There’s nothing that I could say to start off this post that would clarify AAR’s position in their market right now better than what CEO David Storch said to start the 4th quarter and full year 2008 earnings conference call:

“Based on questions we have been receiving over the last several weeks, we believe the market may not fully appreciate the spread of business we have here at AAR.

In many quarters we are merely seen as an airline aftermarket provider. While that was more true earlier in the decade, today AAR is a much broader company servicing a wider customer base.”

Therein lies the beauty of the diversification in AAR’s business, and their ability to leverage that business, even in tough times like now, to come out stronger and better positioned to take market share from competitors, as well as capitalize on their growing revenue to defense and overseas customers.

AAR Corp. (NYSE: AIR), provides products and services to the aviation, aerospace, and defense industries worldwide.

It’s time to put some more capital to work today.

I am initiating a second (2) BUY recommendation of GeoEye, Inc. (Nasdaq: GEOY), a provider of space-based and aerial imagery and geospatial information.

I’m pounding the table hard for this one, and I could easily see GeoEye’s shares doubling in value from this point forward in 6-8 months!

I’m not even kidding at all.

I was going to wait before recommending my next addition to the portfolio until I had finished my full research report, but seeing where things stand today, the valuation combined with the business prospects make this one too juicy to pass up at today’s price.

The company is GeoEye, Inc. (Nasdaq: GEOY), a small/medium sized business that provides space-based, and aerial imagery and geospatial information through high-resolution and low-resolution imagery, imagery-derived products, and image processing services to customers worldwide.

GeoEye is the leader in a niche field with high barriers to entry, has nice growth prospects ahead of it and several upcoming catalysts that I believe put us in a highly advantageous position.

Normally I would wait until I have finished my full research report before sending out a formal recommendation of a company that I have been following and intended to recommend, but the current share price and valuation and the company’s strong niche and leadership within their field, lead me to make this recommendation now.

You’re phone is ringing again…should you pick it up?

“I dunno…” you say to yourself, “could be telemarketers bugging me again.”

As the phone continues to ring, you decide to finally pick up the phone and answer it.

Sure enough, you’re worst fears come to fruition: it’s an automated voice message…but something about it catches your attention right away.

This isn’t like other AVM’s you’ve gotten in the past. Right off the bat you know that something is different.

The message specifically asked for you by name, and when you heard that the phone call was from Capital One about some potential suspicious activity on your card, your ears definitely perked up.

After a few seconds, the message asks you to verify your identity with a question only you would know the answer to before proceeding with the rest of the message.

After verifying who you were, details about the suspicious transaction are presented to you.

After thinking about it for a second, you don’t at first recognize the charge, and as an option, ask to speak to a customer service representative.

In less time than it takes you to say “customer service”, someone is on the line with your full details ready to explain more about the potential fraudulent activity on your account.

You are impressed by not only the speed of the transfer to an agent, but also with the depth and responsiveness of the entire call and how seamless it was.

This time at least, you are certainly glad you picked up the phone!
